Triangular Trusses Made Easy with EMI

SCW Contracting Corp. recently had a job that involved a number of triangular trusses. Thanks to their EMI Tube Processing Center the job was made easy. Their machine is equipped with a Hypertherm Powermax 105 and can handle capacities of up to 6” round tube at 19 lbs per ft.

SCW was able to save countless man-hours in their shop by using their EMI machine to process complex angles on the round tube that would otherwise need to be cut by hand.

SCW also used a fixture to lower the overall fabrication time needed and decrease QC between trusses. Since they do not have any overhead cranes in their fabrication area they used freestanding jib cranes to save time when fitting up. See more photos below.
